Your mission
Develop polymer formulations and polymerisation strategies for aevoloop’s novel, polyester-based plastics
Define the desired properties of the target polymer and develop a R&D plan to achieve them. Design and optimize synthesis routes and scale-up to the 100+ kilogram range, while assessing hazards and costs
Lead and interpret analytical workstreams (DSC, TGA, NMR, SEC, rheology, MFI, viscosity, TAN, mechanical testing, weathering/hydrolytic stability) to define the ideal polymer formulation and achieve the desired mechanical and processing properties
Work closely together with process engineers to translate R&D findings into robust, scalable processes
Develop compounds based on our polymer technology in close collaboration with external partners to fine-tune the material properties and enable manifold applications
Develop sustainable plastic products for a wide range of applications, including extrusion, injection moulding and film blowing to prepare semi-finished product prototypes for 3D printing filaments, fibers or packaging
Identify and validate new applications in line with our go-to-market strategy, especially within the fields of packaging, 3D printing, textiles and composites
Prepare technical reports and patent applications
Ensure that SHEQ and sustainability standards are upheld across all laboratory, pilot and production activities, including knowledge of REACH/CLP, LCA, recycling and end-of-life strategies
Develop depolymerisation procedures to lay the groundwork for selective recycling back to the monomers
